Managing Director - Infrastructure Investment

Panthera Partners is partnered with a leading global sovereign wealth fund to appoint a Managing Director within its European Infrastructure Investment team, based in Abu Dhabi. The organisation is widely regarded as one of the most sophisticated and well-capitalised institutional investors globally, with a long-term investment horizon and a highly diversified infrastructure portfolio spanning energy, utilities, transport, and digital infrastructure. This hire represents a critical addition to the team, with a mandate to shape strategy and drive investment activity across Europe. The Managing Director will play a central role in originating, executing, and managing large-scale infrastructure investments, while contributing to portfolio construction and thematic strategy across the region. The role offers significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to deploy capital at scale across both core and value-add opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Lead the origination and execution of infrastructure investments across EuropeDrive investment strategy and thematic development across sectors and marketsOversee transaction processes end-to-end, including structuring and negotiationManage relationships with sponsors, advisors, and portfolio company stakeholdersRepresent the fund at board level and within the broader investment community Candidate Profile: Currently operating at Director, Managing Director, or equivalent level within a leading infrastructure investment platformDeep expertise across the European infrastructure market, with a broad sector perspectiveDemonstrable track record of leading complex transactions from origination through to executionStrong experience negotiating key transaction documentation, including SPAs and Shareholder AgreementsWell-established network across the European infrastructure ecosystemHighly credible communicator with the ability to influence at senior and board levelStrong academic background in finance, engineering, mathematics, or a related disciplineEntrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a high-performance environmentWillingness and motivation to relocate to Abu Dhabi Panthera Partners is a specialist executive search firm focused on infrastructure, energy transition, and climate investing.
