C++ Developer – Algorithmic Trading | Front Office Location: London Type: Permanent Experience: 3–5 years Sector: Financial Services / Electronic Trading The Opportunity An established global financial institution is looking for a talented C++ Developer to join its front-office trading technology team in London. This is an opportunity to work directly with an equities trading desk, developing and supporting sophisticated algorithmic trading applications in a fast-paced, production-critical environment. The role offers genuine ownership of an established trading algorithm, combining hands-on C++ development with direct trader interaction, real-time troubleshooting and ongoing platform enhancements. You'll work closely with an experienced engineer who will provide a comprehensive handover, with the opportunity to become the primary technical contact for the London desk. What You'll Be Doing Develop, maintain and enhance algorithmic trading applications using C++.Work directly with front-office traders to understand requirements and implement solutions.Take ownership of an established trading algorithm and its ongoing development.Support live trading systems, investigating and resolving production issues as they arise.Develop and maintain trading functionality across equities and FX workflows.Work with trading gateways, order execution and market connectivity.Write unit tests and support QA, regression testing and algorithmic trading compliance.Collaborate with international engineering teams on system improvements and technical initiatives.Balance new development with the demands of a live trading environment. What We're Looking For 3–5 years of commercial C++ development experience.Previous experience working with trading gateways or electronic trading systems.Understanding of order execution and the trading lifecycle.Experience supporting business-critical production applications.Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.Experience with unit testing and software quality assurance.Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with traders.Ability to take ownership, manage competing priorities and respond quickly to production issues. Nice to Have Experience with Broadridge Tbricks.Exposure to equities, FX or Delta One trading.Understanding of FX hedging.Experience developing algorithmic execution strategies.Previous experience within an investment bank, market maker or proprietary trading firm. Prior Tbricks experience is not essential. Candidates with strong C++ and trading gateway experience will receive training on the platform. Why Consider This Opportunity?
