Mechanical SME, Advanced Technology Facilities Location: Chandler AZ / Houston TX / Conshohocken PA / Albany NY / Raleigh-Durham NC (hybrid) Salary: $200,000 to $230,000 per year plus 10 to 15% annual bonus Type: Full-time The role A specialist EPC firm with a strong advanced technology facilities practice is hiring a Mechanical SME to sit at the top of its mechanical discipline across a semiconductor, cleanroom, and high-technology facility portfolio in the Americas. This is a senior leadership role combining deep technical authority with real commercial influence. You will be shaping how the firm wins and delivers complex advanced technology projects, mentoring engineering teams, and acting as the credible mechanical voice of the practice in front of clients and prospects. If you have 10 or more years of mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, or high-technology manufacturing facilities and want an SME-level seat with both technical and business development responsibility, this is worth a conversation. What you will be doing Serve as the mechanical subject matter expert for advanced technology facility projects across the Americas, applying deep knowledge of HVAC, process utilities, cleanroom systems, and facility mechanical infrastructureProvide technical leadership across project programming, preliminary design, and construction document phases for semiconductor and high-technology facilitiesDrive business development by identifying project delivery differentiators, developing value propositions, and providing pre-sales technical support for bids and proposalsCoordinate proposal efforts including strategy, budget, and preliminary design to support competitive bidsIntroduce innovative approaches to mechanical system design and facility problem-solving aligned with evolving client and regulatory requirementsTrain and mentor engineering staff on advanced technology facility design, lessons learned, and best practicesMaintain and develop client relationships to generate leads and support repeat businessWork closely with client account managers and business development managers to position and develop projects across the Americas regionEnsure designs are consistent with industry-accepted practice, leading-edge technologies, and client-preferred standardsRepresent the firm in front of mature industry audiences and client stakeholders What we need from you Degree in Mechanical Engineering10 or more years of experience in advanced technology facilities including semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, or high-technology manufacturing environmentsPrior experience in roles spanning technology, operations, facilities planning, or capital equipment in a high-tech manufacturing environmentStrong client-facing skills with experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders at senior levelDemonstrated ability to influence internal management and external clientsSelf-motivated and comfortable collaborating across remote offices and time zonesProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteMust be authorised to work in the US; sponsorship is not available Good to have EPC services background Experience implementing technical initiatives with demonstrated ROI impact Familiarity with semiconductor or cleanroom mechanical systems including process cooling, ultra-pure water, process gases, and HVAC Compensation and benefits $200,000 to $230,000 per year DOE 10 to 15% annual bonus Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and holidays For more information please contact: matthew.holden@clear-er.com I place across the full range of data center and advanced technology facility design and construction roles.
