Staff DevOps Engineer

Company Description SourceQ delivers Connector-as-a-Service, building and operating custom data connectors for sources not well served by standard ELT platforms or generic integrations. The company focuses on production-grade connectors for REST APIs, web data, complex time-series, streaming, and industry-specific systems, tailored to each client’s source, data model, and destination. Connectors run in the customer’s own cloud environment, deliver directly to their data warehouse, and remain fully owned as their code. SourceQ manages the complexity of extraction, including authentication, pagination, rate limits, incremental loading, checkpointing, retries, schema evolution, and monitoring. This enables data teams to access reliable business-critical data while reducing time spent on building and maintaining ingestion infrastructure. Role Description As a Staff DevOps Engineer at SourceQ, you will design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure to support high-scale data connectors and ingestion pipelines. You will implement and refine infrastructure-as-code practices, manage CI pipelines, and ensure reliable deployments across customer cloud environments. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with software engineers to optimize connector performance, improve observability and monitoring, and enhance system reliability and security. You will also troubleshoot production issues, automate operational workflows, and contribute to internal tooling and best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Zurich. Qualifications Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.Solid Software Development experience in languages commonly used for backend and DevOps (e.g., Python, Go, or Java).Hands-on expertise with Continuous Integration and delivery pipelines, including build automation and testing.Advanced System Administration capabilities and deep proficiency with Linux in production environments.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Strong focus on reliability, security, and monitoring, including logging, metrics, and alerting frameworks.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers on DevOps best practices.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Comfort working on-site in Zurich and communicating in English; German language skills are a plus but not required.
