Senior .NET Developer

Role Description The Senior Dotnet Developer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kathmandu. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining .NET-based applications using .NET Core and ASP.NET MVC, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions. Day-to-day activities include writing clean, maintainable code, implementing object-oriented designs, performing code reviews, and troubleshooting issues across the application stack. The developer will collaborate closely with clients to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, present solutions, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle. The role also involves working with cross-functional teams, contributing to architectural decisions, optimizing application performance, and mentoring less experienced developers. Job Purpose The role combines strong .NET development expertise with modern front-end technologies and CMS platforms to deliver scalable, future-ready digital solutions and engaging digital experiences for global clients. The Senior .NET Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining high-quality web applications and CMS-driven platforms while working closely with clients, designers, developers, and other stakeholders. What are we looking for? An experienced .NET developer with strong expertise in backend architecture and CMS-based web development. The one who loves solving complex technical challenges, are comfortable working across the full web development lifecycle, and can collaborate directly with clients to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. The candidate should have strong understanding of modern web development practices and can take ownership of technical delivery while supporting and mentoring other team members. What You'll Do • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using C#, .NET, and Web API. • Develop and integrate solutions using enterprise CMS platforms such as Optimizely and Umbraco. • Build and maintain responsive, high-performance front-end experiences using React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS. • Translate business and technical requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions. • Work closely with designers, developers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality digital experiences. • Participate in technical discussions, solution design, code reviews, and architectural decisions. • Develop and integrate APIs, third-party services, and CMS components. • Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, security, accessibility, SEO, and cross-device compatibility. • Set up and maintain effective development workflows, environments, and deployment processes. • Work with CI/CD pipelines and support smooth deployments across multiple environments. • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues. • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and deliver work effectively within sprint cycles. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers. • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, CMS capabilities, and industry best practices. Skills and Competencies Technical Skills • 7+ years of professional experience in C# and .NET development. • Strong experience with ASP.NET Core / .NET, Web API, and backend architecture. • Hands-on experience with Optimizely and/or Umbraco CMS. • Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS. • Strong understanding of responsive and cross-browser web development. • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations. • Good understanding of databases and data-driven applications. • Experience with Git and modern software development workflows. • Proven experience working with CI/CD pipelines and multi-environment deployments. • Understanding of application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability. • Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment practices is an advantage. CMS Experience • Strong practical experience developing and customizing CMS-based websites and applications. • Experience creating reusable CMS components, templates, content models, and integrations. • Understanding of content management workflows, permissions, publishing, and personalization. • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing CMS implementations. • Knowledge of Optimizely CMS, Umbraco, or similar enterprise CMS platforms. Professional Skills • Working proficiency in English is must have • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Comfortable working directly with clients and translating business requirements into technical solutions. • Ability to take ownership of deliverables and work independently. • Comfortable collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. • Strong attention to quality, performance, and technical detail.
