is a CSSF-authorised Payment Institution in Luxembourg, backed by One97 Communications Limited, one of India's largest fintech groups, with the ambition of transforming how SMEs across Europe accept and manage payments.

Role PurposeThe Cloud & IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and securing Paytm Europe's cloud infrastructure and internal IT operational environment.
In this role, you will hold hands-on operational responsibility for building, securing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure, driving DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, and enforcing strict vulnerability, patch, and asset management controls in line with CSSF and DORA regulatory frameworks.
Additionally, you will oversee day-to-day office IT operations, ensuring seamless local IT setups, endpoint management, and user onboarding/offboarding.
This is a broad, technical, and execution-oriented role combining cloud architecture governance with essential IT service management to ensure production systems remain resilient, performant, and compliant.
Key ResponsibilitiesAWS & Infrastructure Management
Provision, configure, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, network boundaries, and VPCs.Manage AWS IAM roles, secrets, access policies, and key management (KMS/HSM).Support multi-region availability and disaster recovery failover setups.Assist in cloud cost optimization, monitoring resource usage, and tagging enforcement.
DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines
Maintain and improve automated deployment and release pipelines (CI/CD).Utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to standardize cloud resource provisioning.Execute automated deployment and rollback runbooks for production services.
Security, Vulnerability & Patching
Execute patch management and vulnerability remediation across systems and endpoints.Enforce edge controls, perimeter firewall rules, and TLS/WAF configurations.Monitor certificate and secrets expirations to avoid operational service disruptions.Implement security controls complying with DORA regulatory guidelines and PCI-DSS.
SRE & Monitoring
Configure dashboards and actionable alerts using Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.Monitor SLIs and SLOs across payment and core application platforms.Participate in on-call support rotas, incident management, and postmortem analysis.Participate in Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) testing exercises.
Office IT & End-User Support
Provide local office IT support, troubleshooting devices, hardware, and user applications.Manage employee onboarding/offboarding, endpoint MDM configurations, and access provisioning.Maintain IT asset lifecycle tracking, inventory registers, and support documentation.
Ideal BackgroundYou will ideally have hands-on DevOps, Cloud Operations, or Systems Engineering experience in a regulated financial services environment, combining robust AWS skills with a proactive approach to automation, security, and internal IT service support.
Essential ExperienceApproximately 4–6 years of experience in Cloud Operations, DevOps, Systems Administration, or SRE.Strong practical experience with AWS cloud services and networking fundamentals (VPC, IAM, EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, WAF).Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and containerization technologies (Docker).Experience setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Grafana, CloudWatch).Good scripting skills in Python, Shell, or Bash for task automation.Solid understanding of Linux administration, system patching, and security hygiene.Proven track record in incident management, root cause analysis, and operational troubleshooting.Fluent written and spoken English.
Highly DesirableExperience working in payments, banking, or CSSF/DORA regulated fintech environments.Knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) orchestration and microservices deployment.AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect).

Measures of Success (First 12 Months)Successful rollout and deployment of core AWS landing zone and network infrastructure.Zero unpatched high-severity vulnerabilities across infrastructure and endpoints beyond SLA windows.Smooth end-user onboarding and IT operational support with low ticket resolution times.Fully implemented automated CI/CD pipelines and IaC configurations.Active participation in disaster recovery drills and production readiness reviews.
