About Our Client: Blue Rose Research operates within the political research and progressive advocacy space. It addresses the challenge of effectively informing Democratic and progressive campaigns and organizations through extensive opinion research and data tools. The organization produces large-scale opinion data, directly serves decision-makers, and develops tools used widely across the progressive ecosystem to guide strategic communication and spending. About the Opportunity: The SOFTWARE ENGINEER (LLM PRODUCTS) role focuses on creating AI-powered products that enhance political research and strategy. This position is responsible for building conversational interfaces, autonomous research agents, and tools that transform large datasets into actionable insights. The engineer collaborates closely with political researchers and data scientists to design and implement software that supports campaign decision-making, contributing to electoral success and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities: Design and develop end-to-end features for products combining human and AI agent interaction.Create interfaces that present AI outputs, uncertainty, and citations in a trustworthy manner.Collaborate with political researchers, data scientists, and engineers to simplify complex problems into usable software.Utilize AI tools and coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining quality.Engage with users and stakeholders to identify and resolve usability and trust issues in existing tools.Develop systems that incorporate a deep understanding of political strategy and user goals. Requirements: Six or more years of experience as a product engineer, full-stack engineer, or designer-engineer with a portfolio of delivered products.Strong product and UX design instincts, able to critique and improve user flows.Proficiency in using coding agents for rapid development without sacrificing quality.Hands-on experience building products based on large language models, including chat interfaces and retrieval-augmented tools.Knowledge of leveraging human annotations to embed expertise into AI systems.Capability in visual and interaction design, with familiarity with design tools like Figma.Comfort with ambiguity and evolving problem spaces.Alignment with the mission to support progressive political efforts; prior political or civic-tech experience is a plus but not required. Pay Range and Compensation Package: The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $210,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
