About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Application Developer (d/f/m) to join our Digital Operator Solutions team at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications that underpin our critical operational platforms. You will serve as a key architect in shaping our cloud infrastructure and software ecosystems, ensuring they are aligned with strategic business objectives and future technological advancements. Your expertise will influence the entire lifecycle of microservices-based applications, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing optimization. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders, you will drive innovation and operational excellence within our digital landscape. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background complemented by excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. You should have advanced proficiency in TypeScript and modern web frameworks such as Angular, along with extensive experience in cloud architecture, particularly within AWS environments. Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is essential, as is a deep understanding of distributed systems design. Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, event-driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka, and CI/CD pipeline automation (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) will be highly advantageous. Fluency in German is required, with proficiency in English considered a plus. Knowledge of German security and governmental standards is also preferred. Certifications in Kubernetes or related cloud technologies, along with experience managing offshore development teams, are considered valuable assets. Responsibilities Lead the full lifecycle development of microservices-based web applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements, scalability, and security standards.Define and evolve the company's IT architecture, including software design and infrastructure, to support current and future operational needs.Apply ITIL best practices to ensure operational excellence through incident, problem, change, and release management processes.Manage relationships with external software development providers, acting as the technical point of contact and ensuring deliverables meet quality and architectural standards.Implement and enforce security policies by adopting secure coding practices and maintaining rigorous application configuration standards.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and developer productivity by evolving the tech stack and infrastructure.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and systems, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
