About the Opportunity:
The Manager, Software Engineering leads one or more functional areas within the enterprise e-commerce platforms.
This role is responsible for guiding engineering teams to deliver business value through lean development practices, fostering a productive and joyful engineering culture, and ensuring systems are stable and observable.
The position focuses on enabling team success, mentoring individuals, and creating scalable processes that align with the company’s e-commerce objectives.

Responsibilities:
Hire, retain, manage, mentor, and inspire software and QA engineers to maximize productivity.Create an environment where engineering team members find joy in delivering business value daily.Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.Manage and monitor the full team lean value stream to reduce waste and improve performance.Identify and implement workflow, tool, and process improvements to enhance productivity.Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Product Management on design proposals and development schedules.Develop a lean backlog aligned with senior leadership expectations for frequent releases.Support skill development in partnership with Engineering Enablement teams.Assess engineers’ capabilities and capacities, set clear goals, and provide feedback.Prioritize resources based on business urgencies to achieve optimal results.Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of e-commerce platform features.Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational priorities.

Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in leadership.Strong knowledge of e-commerce platforms and technologies.Proven experience managing software development projects and leading cross-functional teams through the full product development cycle.Hands-on experience with agile and lean methodologies.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.Experience with modern development tools and technologies such as CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, microservices, event-based architecture, Kubernetes, and Istio.Quick learner with a willingness to embrace new technologies.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering team environment.
