About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java-Entwickler (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team in Nürnberg. In this strategic role, you will be instrumental in the modernization of our core systems within the General Insurance division. Your primary focus will be on supporting the replacement of our existing policy administration system and actively shaping the technological realignment of our application landscape. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement robust Java-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. As a senior developer, you will take ownership of critical phases of the software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment, and contribute to the technological future of uniVersa Versicherungen. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in backend development with Java, complemented by several years of professional experience in similar roles. You should have a genuine passion for software development and a keen interest in continuous learning. A solid understanding of modern Java frameworks, architecture principles, and system integration is essential. You must be able to quickly adapt to new technologies and proactively identify areas for improvement. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders. A completed apprenticeship as Fachinformatiker/in, a degree in computer science, or an equivalent qualification is mandatory. Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include supporting the strategic replacement of our existing policy management system within the General Insurance sector and actively participating in the technological realignment of our application landscape. You will lead the integration of a new Java-based policy administration system, contributing your expertise in system architecture, development, and technical design. As an experienced backend developer, you will independently resolve complex technical challenges related to software replacement and integration. You will oversee all phases of software development—from initial concept and technical design through testing and deployment—ensuring high-quality deliverables. Working within an agile team, you will coordinate closely with business units, service providers, and IT operations to align project goals and deliver innovative solutions.
