Business Systems Engineer Intern - Finance Technology

We are seeking a motivated, technical student to join our Corporate FinTech team as a Business Systems Engineer Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the full suite of FinTech applications, modernizing finance and business operations through automation, integration, and AI. You'll work alongside finance, systems, and engineering partners across ERP, HCM, Procurement, Supply Chain, and FP&A to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and build scalable solutions for a public company. Some things you'll gain and learn during this internship include: Hands-on experience across enterprise FinTech applications, including Oracle ERP, Oracle HCM, and WorkatoPractical exposure to applying AI and RPA to real finance and business problemsExposure to corporate finance, HR, procurement, supply chain, and FP&A processes at a public companyMentorship from experienced FinTech, automation, and technical professionalsUnderstanding of how system integration and automation drive finance transformationExperience working with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, HR, Procurement, IT, and EngineeringProfessional development in agile methodologies and project managementPotential pathway to full-time opportunities within our growing FinTech organization Responsibilities: Support FinTech applications and processes across Procurement, Supply Chain, and FP&A, including Oracle ERP, Oracle HCM, Jira, and Google WorkspaceDesign, build, and maintain automation workflows using Workato, Python, and related tools under the mentorship of senior team membersIdentify manual, repetitive processes across finance and business operations and help translate them into automated, well-documented solutionsWrite SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data across source systemsSupport data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy across integrations, reports, and applicationsExplore and prototype AI-powered solutions using tools such as LangChain, Workato AI, and UiPathConfigure and maintain Jira automation rules to support intake, tracking, and delivery of FinTech projectsAssist in building reports and dashboards that give stakeholders visibility into financial and operational dataParticipate in testing of new automations, integrations, configuration changes, and system updatesLearn to gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into functional technical solutionsProvide first-level end-user support and troubleshooting across FinTech applications and automated workflowsParticipate in stakeholder meetings, process mapping sessions, and training Experience: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at a university in Canada (required) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, with a graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028 (required). Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
