About The Role We are currently partnering with a prominent global software organization to recruit a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join their Product & Engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a next-generation B2B SaaS platform that is designed to be scalable, secure, and highly available for organizations worldwide. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a vital role in shaping the architecture, standards, and ongoing development of the platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of enterprise clients. The position is remote, open to candidates based in the UK and Ireland, providing flexibility and work-life balance. This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer with a proven track record in delivering B2B SaaS solutions, particularly within multi-tenant environments. Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of commercial software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development.Extensive experience delivering B2B SaaS products in a professional setting.Proven expertise working with multi-tenant SaaS platforms, understanding the complexities of managing shared resources securely and efficiently.Demonstrable career stability and progression within engineering teams, with a history of long-term contributions.Expertise in C# and modern .NET frameworks, ideally including .NET 8 and/or .NET 10.Experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade software within the Microsoft technology stack.Strong knowledge of developing RESTful APIs and backend services.Proficiency working with relational databases and SQL, including SQL Server and Azure SQL.Experience with cloud-based application development and deployment, particularly within Microsoft Azure. Responsibilities As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design, development, and maintenance of the company's cloud-native SaaS platform. Your responsibilities will include: Designing, building, and maintaining robust backend services, APIs, and reusable libraries to support the platform's features and functionality.Writing high-quality, clean, and testable code using C# and modern .NET technologies to ensure reliability and performance.Contributing to architectural decisions and helping to evolve a scalable, secure, and resilient multi-tenant SaaS environment.Developing RESTful APIs and backend services that are consumed by web and mobile clients, ensuring seamless integration and performance.Building event-driven and asynchronous components utilizing technologies such as Azure Service Bus to enhance system responsiveness and scalability.Working with relational databases to design efficient SQL queries, optimize database performance, and ensure data integrity.Deploying and managing cloud-based applications within Microsoft Azure, leveraging best practices for security and scalability.Participating in automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices to maintain high standards of quality.Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including refactoring, performance optimization, and technical debt reduction.Collaborating within an Agile environment, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Translating functional and technical requirements into robust, production-ready software solutions.Mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge, and helping to raise engineering standards across the team. Benefits The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary in the range of approximately £60,000 to £80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skills.
