About The Role We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team on a short-term basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who excels in designing, building, and automating cloud infrastructure within the Azure environment. The successful candidate will work closely with a small, experienced team to develop a secure, governed, and scalable cloud platform. The primary focus will be on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), implementing governance policies, and ensuring secure deployment practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical project, leveraging your technical expertise to deliver reliable cloud solutions that meet organizational standards and compliance requirements. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in end-to-end cloud infrastructure projects, particularly within Azure. Essential qualifications include practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep. A comprehensive understanding of Azure governance, policies, and RBAC is required to ensure security and compliance. Candidates should have hands-on experience provisioning core Azure components such as virtual networks, storage accounts, key vaults, and virtual machines. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a small team, and excellent communication skills are also necessary to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Develop detailed low-level designs for the target cloud environment, ensuring they align with organizational standards and best practices.Establish and manage an Infrastructure as Code platform to facilitate automated landing zone deployments, ensuring repeatability and consistency.Create and configure management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, and apply Azure policies to enforce governance and compliance.Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to secure access to cloud resources, supporting principle of least privilege.Design, build, and test network components, including load balancers, virtual networks, and firewall rules, to ensure optimal performance and security.Provision and configure core services such as storage accounts, Key Vaults, and file servers, supporting organizational needs.Set up backup solutions and monitoring services to ensure high availability, data integrity, and proactive issue detection.Provision virtual machines for applications, middleware, and databases, with appropriate security controls and resource management.
