About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior NodeJS Backend Developer to join a rapidly expanding SaaS software business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and fast-paced product and engineering team, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the backend architecture, taking ownership of features from initial concept through to deployment, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This position emphasizes proactive involvement beyond routine ticket completion, encouraging candidates to contribute ideas on improving backend systems, development practices, and overall engineering processes. The role is fully remote, providing flexibility and the chance to collaborate with a talented team of professionals dedicated to innovative product development. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in server-side development with a proven track record in NodeJS and TypeScript. Candidates should have experience working with microservices architectures and be familiar with modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines. A solid understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, is essential, along with experience in writing comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability. Additional desirable qualifications include familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, experience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and knowledge of gRPC, OAuth2, or AWS Cognito. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively within Agile teams, and a passion for delivering scalable, maintainable backend solutions. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable server-side applications using NodeJS and TypeScript, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.Take ownership of backend features from initial design through to production deployment, managing the full development lifecycle.Build, maintain, and optimize microservices architectures to support the SaaS platform’s growth and scalability.Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to uphold high standards of software quality and reliability.Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless and efficient backend solutions.Contribute to the improvement of coding standards, engineering practices, and development processes within the team.Participate actively in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of features.
