About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer with expertise in SQL and Oracle technologies to join our team in London. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database solutions that support our BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) client’s business operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with large-scale, complex database environments, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our client and ensure data integrity and availability across the enterprise. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a SQL and Oracle Database Engineer. Candidates must have a strong background in database design, development, and optimization. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle database management is essential. Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are required. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in Oracle or NoSQL technologies. Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize Oracle database solutions utilizing SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, and packages to meet business requirements.Build and maintain scalable data models, integrations, and ETL processes that support enterprise applications and data warehousing initiatives.Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of database systems.Collaborate with application development teams to deliver secure, efficient, and high-quality database solutions aligned with organizational standards.Design, develop, and maintain scalable NoSQL database solutions using technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase.Build high-performance data models and APIs to support distributed, real-time, and large-scale applications.Optimize indexing strategies, query performance, replication, and data availability across large-scale environments.Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data governance policies.Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing sessions to promote best practices within the team.Continuously monitor and improve database performance, availability, and security measures.
