About The Role Hays Technology is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer for a 12-month contract position, primarily remote and UK-based. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a leading consultancy supporting a large-scale enterprise cloud environment. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative security team dedicated to enhancing cloud security capabilities, strengthening cyber resilience, and driving continuous improvements across modern cloud platforms. This position involves working with cutting-edge security technologies and implementing best practices to safeguard enterprise cloud infrastructures. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud security, with proven experience working with Cortex XSIAM, Cortex Cloud, and other Palo Alto security solutions. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security. Knowledge of AWS security services, threat detection, incident response, and security automation is essential. Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture, SIEM technologies, and API integrations will be highly advantageous. Relevant certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Palo Alto Networks certifications, or AWS Security certifications are preferred. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory if accompanied by extensive practical experience. Responsibilities Operate and optimise Cortex Cloud and Cortex XSIAM platforms to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.Develop, tune, and maintain threat detection rules and automated response playbooks to ensure rapid and effective incident handling.Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security threats.Manage Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security controls to maintain a secure cloud environment.Support Prisma Access and other secure remote access technologies to ensure secure connectivity for remote users.Drive security automation initiatives, including integrations, scripting, and policy-as-code implementations.Collaborate closely with cloud engineering and cybersecurity teams to implement security improvements and best practices.Contribute to the development and enforcement of Zero Trust security architecture and governance frameworks. Benefits This contract role offers a competitive day rate of 450 to 550 GBP, inside IR35, with the flexibility of remote working within the UK.
