Your mission We are seeking a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to build and scale the systems that power bluumy's platform. You will focus on designing robust backend services, APIs, integrations, and infrastructure that enable seamless user experiences and future growth. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systemsBuild and optimize APIs and microservicesDesign efficient database structures and data modelsEnsure platform security, reliability, and performanceCollaborate closely with Product and Frontend Engineering teamsMonitor and improve system health and scalabilityParticipate in architectural decisionsSupport deployment, observability, and infrastructure initiativesWrite automated tests and maintain engineering quality standards Your profile 3+ years of backend engineering experienceStrong experience with modern backend technologiesExperience building scalable APIs and distributed systemsStrong database knowledge (SQL and/or NoSQL)Experience with cloud infrastructureUnderstanding of security best practicesStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsFluent English communication skills Optional Experience in high-growth startup environmentsE-commerce or marketplace experienceExperience with event-driven architecturesExperience with containerization technologiesGerman language skillsInterest in educational technology Why us?
