Principal Civil Infrastructure Coordinator

Permanent | Senior Leadership | Civil Infrastructure & Asset Management For an experienced civil infrastructure professional, this is an opportunity to step beyond individual projects and take a broader view of how an entire infrastructure network is assessed, prioritised and planned for the future. We are partnering with a regional Queensland local government organisation seeking an accomplished infrastructure professional to lead the monitoring, assessment and forward planning of its road, drainage, bridge and associated civil infrastructure assets. This is a role where strong engineering judgement matters. You'll be looking at the condition and performance of existing infrastructure, determining where investment is needed and helping shape maintenance, renewal and future capital works programs. Working closely with Design and Delivery teams, you'll play an important role in ensuring infrastructure investment is based on condition, risk, service levels and whole-of-life considerations, rather than simply responding to the most immediate issue. What you'll be responsible for: Your remit will span the strategic and practical management of a diverse civil infrastructure portfolio, including: Leading asset inspections, condition assessments and data collection across roads, drainage, bridges and associated infrastructureDeveloping maintenance and renewal strategies based on asset condition, risk, service levels and lifecycle considerationsIdentifying and prioritising future infrastructure projects and helping shape forward capital works programsEnsuring asset information is accurate, reliable and effectively utilised across asset management and GIS systemsProviding technical advice around maintenance requirements, renewal priorities, resealing and resheeting programsLeading and developing a small technical team while working closely with internal Design and Delivery functionsThese responsibilities reflect the role's ownership of condition assessment, asset data, forward works planning and infrastructure renewal prioritisation. Who we're looking for We're looking for someone who understands infrastructure assets from both an engineering and asset management perspective. You may already be working in local government, TMR, an engineering consultancy or another organisation responsible for significant road and civil infrastructure networks. To be seriously considered, you'll need to bring: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, supported by significant post-graduate professional experienceStrong experience across infrastructure asset management, maintenance planning and/or civil infrastructurePractical knowledge of roads, drainage and associated civil assets, including condition assessment, defects and maintenance requirementsExperience using condition, risk and asset information to prioritise maintenance, renewal and future capital investmentThe leadership and communication skills to manage a small team and provide credible technical advice to a broad range of stakeholders A Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) qualification will be highly regarded. You'll also need to hold a Queensland C Class Manual Driver Licence and current General Safety Induction Card. Why consider a regional move?
