Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will take ownership of recovery process performance across key assets including recovery boilers, evaporators, recausticising and utilities systems. Working closely with operations, maintenance and projects teams, you'll solve complex process challenges, improve reliability and efficiency, and deliver measurable results in a high-investment, technically advanced manufacturing environment. What You'll Do Monitor and optimise chemical recovery plant performance, focusing on safety, reliability, efficiency and costInvestigate process issues and lead root cause analysis to improve plant stability and performanceSupport optimisation of energy, steam, water and chemical balances across the siteLead operational trials, process changes and continuous improvement initiativesSupport and deliver capital projects relating to chemical recovery and utilities systemsPartner with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and operating performanceDrive best practice operating standards and process control improvements What You Will Bring Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar8+ years' experience in process engineering within heavy industry or manufacturingStrong experience within chemical recovery, utilities, evaporator, boiler, energy, sugar, pulp and paper, or similar continuous process environmentsHands-on experience working with recovery boilers, power boilers, evaporators, steam generation, chemical processing or related large-scale process equipmentStrong process troubleshooting, optimisation and continuous improvement capabilityExperience balancing production, reliability, cost and environmental objectivesAbility to lead initiatives and influence outcomes across multiple stakeholder groupsA proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on safety, operational excellence and resultsStrong communication skills working with both technical and operational teams Candidates from pulp milling, sugar milling, alumina refining, chemical manufacturing, power generation, mining and other evaporator/boiler-based processing operations are strongly encouraged to apply.
