Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the RoleThe Senior Quality Engineer provides technical leadership in quality engineering across the organisation, ensuring products, manufacturing processes, and quality systems meet the expectations of customers operating in demanding global markets. The role leads strategic quality improvement initiatives, supports business growth through robust quality management practices, and mentors’ quality engineers while working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers across the Photonics and Wireless business units. ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership on quality engineering activities across the business. • Lead complex investigations into product and process quality issues. Develop and improve the Quality Management System. Lead customer and supplier quality improvement programmes. Plan and conduct internal, supplier and customer audits. Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Develop quality strategies, metrics and performance reporting. Support New Product Introduction (NPI), qualification and manufacturing readiness. • Mentor and coach junior quality engineers. Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and customer-specific quality requirements. Represent Quality during customer meetings, audits and external assessments. Work with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, manufacturing capability and operational performance.What We're Looking ForDegree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality. Significant experience in Quality Engineering within semiconductor, electronics or other high-technology manufacturing. Proven experience leading quality improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and quality management systems. Experience leading supplier and customer quality activities. Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills. Advanced knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methodologies. • ISO 9001 Auditor qualification or equivalent auditing experience is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred. Knowledge of IATF16949, AS9100 or other industry quality standards is preferred. Experience supporting global customers within semiconductor, photonics, wireless communications or advanced manufacturing is preferred. Working knowledge of Quality Management and Product Lifecycle Management systems, such as Q Pulse, Arena, or equivalent platforms. Experience working with contract manufacturers, outsourced manufacturing partners, and strategic suppliers. Lead and support reliability activities throughout the product lifecycle, including failure investigation, risk assessment, and corrective action, ensuring products meet defined reliability, quality, and performance requirements.Personal FitOpen, pragmatic, team player Willingness to support and challenge, and to be supported and challenged.
