Nuwave Position Summary NUWAVE is a market leader in unified communications as a service and enterprise voice for Microsoft Teams. We deliver carrier-grade communications to enterprises and service providers worldwide. Our platforms are backed by BSI-certified management systems, including ISO/IEC 42001 for AI governance. We are looking for an AI Engineer for a full-time, U.S.-remote role helping build and operate Nebula, NUWAVE's governed conversational AI workspace. Nebula combines a GraphRAG knowledge engine, business applications, and agent workflows across the web and Microsoft Teams. This role works closely with the Director of AI Infrastructure to turn Jira issues into verified production changes. You will use AI coding agents as part of the daily engineering workflow while remaining accountable for system design, code review, testing, deployment discipline, and operational judgment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Build, test, and maintain AI applications, cloud services, and supporting infrastructure for Nebula Translate Jira issues and product requirements into scoped technical changes with clear acceptance criteria Use AI coding agents to accelerate implementation while reviewing their output for correctness, security, and maintainability. Develop and debug Python services and contribute to TypeScript applications when needed Operate workloads across AWS and Azure, including serverless, container, identity, data, and observability services Work with retrieval-augmented generation, GraphRAG, vector search, graph databases, and agent workflows Write infrastructure as code and follow disciplined source-control, review, release, and rollback practices Verify changes through automated tests, logs, metrics, and direct functional checks before considering work complete. Document designs, operational procedures, decisions, and status clearly enough for others to act without a meeting. Participate in production support, incident response, and occasional after-hours work when required Other Duties And Responsibilities Some on-call work, including weekends or holidays, may be required. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge Skills And Abilities Strong software engineering fundamentals and working fluency in Python, including the ability to read, debug, and review unfamiliar code. Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS or Azure Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar agentic tools Demonstrated ownership: able to turn a goal into a plan, identify blockers early, and carry work through verification. Sound Git, testing, deployment, and operational discipline, with clear evidence of what changed and how it was validated. Clear written and verbal communication with technical and nontechnical partners Preferred Qualifications Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, RAG or GraphRAG systems, vector search, or graph databases Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, or another infrastructure-as-code framework Experience building on Microsoft 365 or Teams, including Microsoft Graph, Teams apps, or Microsoft Entra ID Exposure to multi-agent orchestration patterns or development of internal agent tooling Security-minded engineering and familiarity with formal management systems such as ISO/IEC 42001 Experience with TypeScript, containerized services, serverless systems, or distributed systems PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT None.
