Lead Messaging Engineer

We're building a new digital home for the global Muslim community: a super-app that starts with private communication and grows into payments, commerce and media. The foundation is a private messenger built by Muslims, for the Ummah. THE ROLE: We're looking for a Senior Messaging engineer to join our existing team and help take us to global scale.It's hands-on: you'll work across the React Native app and the Go backend, improving the product we already have and getting it ready for serious international growth. WHAT WE NEED: This isn’t a greenfield project or a basic React Native app. We already have a product and an existing engineering team, and need a senior engineer who can help take it to global scale.The role is heavily hands-on across React Native and Go. You’d be working on things like real-time messaging, offline sync, message ordering and retries, push notifications, multi-device sessions, encryption, media, and eventually voice and video.Need someone who has dealt with the hard problems that come with messaging at scale: flaky mobile connections, delivery guarantees, concurrent connections, synchronization, reliability, and debugging production issues.Especially interested in people who have worked on an actual messenger, communication platform, or other real-time product. It’s a remote founding-team environment, so there’s a lot of ownership and the opportunity to have a real impact on the technical direction.
