Role Description The Senior Software Engineer (Healthcare) will design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions that support Oxbridge Health’s Episode of Care-based insurance and logistics platform.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing back-end services, integrating with external systems and data sources, implementing secure APIs, and ensuring high performance and reliability of production systems.
The role involves collaborating closely with product, data, and clinical operations teams to translate business and healthcare requirements into robust technical designs, as well as reviewing code, mentoring developers, and contributing to architectural decisions.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Norwalk, CT, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time.
Qualifications
Proven Engineer Leadership: Demonstrates strong ownership, demands high engineering standards without sacrificing quality, works backward from the customer and problem, mentors others, and drives best engineering practices across the organization.Distributed Systems: Demonstrates a strong foundation in designing and building scalable, reliable distributed systems.Strong foundations in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-grade applications.Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful services and API-driven architectures.Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles in modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, C++).Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.Knowledge of healthcare, health insurance, or related regulated environments, including data privacy and security practices, is a plus.Comfort working in an early-stage, fast-paced setting, with the ability to own projects end-to-end and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Must be authorized to work in US.
