About The Role Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer in Laurel, MD. This is a position on an integrated product development team. The candidate will have a primary focus of supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for a full featured service hosted on large scale compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Duties include design, development, testing and integration of capabilities, optimization & performance tuning, and operation & sustainment functions. Competencies and Skills: Experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Expertise in AWS Cloud Architecture designProficiency in using AWS SDKs and APIsProficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or TerraformExpertise in Continuous Integration, Deployment, Testing and Monitoring practicesJava programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threadingAgile development experience with source code management practices and toolsWell-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)Familiarity with microservices software development techniques and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)Knowledge of security and compliance best practices As a Cloud Software Engineer, you are expected to perform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiency and independence. You are expected to communicate directions and provide guidance to more junior programmer/analysts, as required. Cloud Software Engineers must be adept at developing solutions which balance cost, capability, availability and resilience. Additionally, Cloud Software Engineers may be responsible for evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness. #PeratonRoyalMove #AJCM #MDFSP Qualifications Shall have at least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required. An additional four (4) years of experience can be considered over the degree. Details Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
