Position Summary The Software Engineer IV (SE IV) is an experienced, full-stack engineer working within the InEight Inspect ecosystem — a multi-tenant SaaS platform used by contractors and owners to manage field inspections, quality, and safety workflows. Role This role operates with a full-stack SDE mindset, contributing across the same three evolving horizons as the broader Inspect engineering team, with a primary focus on solid, well-tested execution and growing technical ownership: Now – New Feature Delivery: Build and ship new capabilities on the Inspect roadmap, working across the full stack (ASP.NET Web API, Angular, Azure), under the technical direction of senior engineers. Next – Platform Modernization: Contribute hands-on to the .NET 10 migration and related modernization work (EF Core, Angular upgrades). Then – InEight Advisor / Agentic Journey: Support the build-out of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tooling that connect Inspect's domain and data to AI agents, contributing to the InEight Advisor initiative. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who writes high-quality, testable code, is comfortable owning features end-to-end, and is eager to grow into broader technical leadership over time. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable software solutions across the InEight Inspect platform using .NET, Angular, and Azure technologies. Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architecture, implementation planning, and engineering best practices. Develop and maintain web APIs, user-facing applications, and integrations with Azure services to support product capabilities. Contribute to platform modernization initiatives, including .NET, Angular, and data access framework upgrades. Build and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and other quality-focused engineering practices. Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software in an Agile environment. Support emerging AI and agentic technology initiatives, including integrations, tooling, and experimentation with AI-assisted development practices. Troubleshoot production issues, address technical debt, and contribute to the overall performance, security, and maintainability of the platform. Qualifications 6+ years of professional software development experience, including experience independently delivering features from design through deployment. Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET technologies, and modern web application development. 3+ years of experience building and supporting cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure. Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular preferred), TypeScript, and component-based web development. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and SaaS application architecture principles. Experience working with Azure DevOps, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices. Experience with Entity Framework, application modernization efforts, and maintaining high-quality, testable code. Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills. Interest in emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development, agentic systems, and modern software engineering practices. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
