About Us
The Ammortal Chamber integrates five science-backed modalities into one immersive 25-minute session.
Our clients include wellness clinics and spas, sports teams and athletic departments, hotels, and individuals who bring the Chamber into their homes.
We are a small team with a startup culture.
Hardware and software engineers, health professionals, and operators work side by side.
Since shipping our first product we have grown steadily, and the software that drives the Chamber is now at the center of what comes next.
This role offers hands-on ownership, room to grow into technical leadership, and a direct hand in shaping how the Chamber works for the people who use it.
What is this role and why does it exist?
This role centers on Linux systems software for the Chamber: building and owning the application-level software that runs on embedded Linux and interfaces with hardware over common serial and bus protocols — the software layer that sits above the firmware and drives the product.
You'll occasionally reach up the stack into frontend work as well, giving you end-to-end understanding of the system.
At the senior level, you are a technical owner in this layer.
You help make the architectural calls, set the standard for code quality and testing, and serve as a go-to person when a hardware-software problem needs solving.
You'll work closely with the hardware team, OT partners, and the rest of the software team, and you'll help level up teammates who are earlier in their careers.
Responsibilities
Own the design and development of Chamber application software on embedded Linux, including hardware communication over serial and bus protocolsLead architectural decisions for our microservices-based platform and drive them through to implementationDefine and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, and deploymentAct as the technical escalation point for complex customer and field issuesMaintain and occasionally extend early-gen Chamber softwareContribute to frontend work as needed to ship complete featuresCollaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teammates to deliver end-to-end solutions
Skills to Excel
Systems Thinking: Deep understanding of how software, operating system, and hardware interact, and where problems tend to hide Technical Judgment: Makes sound architectural tradeoffs and can explain them clearly Ownership: Takes responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks; follows problems through to resolution Attention to Detail: Organized and methodical in development, testing, and debugging Continuous Learning: Stays current and curious across languages, tools, and patterns Customer Focus: Understands how technical decisions affect the people using the product Communication: Works well across disciplines and translates between hardware, software, and business needs Comfortable Multitasking: Manages multiple priorities and shifts context without losing the thread Team Collaboration: Works effectively in a small, cross-disciplinary team; enjoys helping others grow and gives clear, constructive feedback
