Job Title: Associate DevOps Engineer Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid) Duration: Contract to hire Fresh local Graduates – Associate role Purpose of the Job: This position is primally responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling our DevOps infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and security across development pipelines and production environments in AWS Cloud Major Duties and responsibilities: Assist in the setup and administration of AWS environments (Dev, QA, UAT, PROD) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation under senior guidance. Monitor resource usage and support basic cost optimization effortsMaintain and troubleshoot existing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions. Assist in the deployments, and support build and release processes for development teamsMonitor AWS environments and applications using tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus. Respond to alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers. Assist in maintaining logs and metricsWrite basic scripts in Python or Bash to automate repetitive operational tasks. Support the use of configuration management tools such as Ansible for routine environment configuration.Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth code integration and deployments. Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks using Jira and follow change management processesAssist in basic security practices such as applying patches, running vulnerability scans (e.g., using tools like Trivy or Snyk), and supporting DevSecOps initiatives under supervision.Stay updated with emerging DevOps tools and cloud technologies. Pursue relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) and actively participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions Education and Experience: Required: • Bachelor's degreein Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related field. • 0 - 1 year of professional experience on DevOps , Scripting , Automation. • Interest in Cloud, Automation, AI. Knowledge and skill level: • Foundational experience with at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC). • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions. • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash. • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools. • Basic knowledge of Docker and container concepts. • Understanding of Git workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
