About the RoleWe are partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment to fill a Senior Frontend Engineer to help build and evolve the user-facing experience of our FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) service.
You will work closely with product management, design, and backend engineering teams to create highly performant, intuitive, and responsive interfaces for web, TV apps, and other connected devices.
This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about building streaming experiences that delight millions of users, and who care deeply about performance, usability, and maintainability.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop client applications for live and on-demand FAST channels across web and TV platforms
Implement features such as EPG (Electronic Program Guide), channel browsing, dynamic ad-supported playback interfaces, and deep content discovery
Integrate with backend APIs for content metadata, scheduling, ad services, and analytics
Collaborate with designers to bring mockups to life
Ensure high performance, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility
Work closely with backend, QA, and product teams to deliver new features end to end
Continuously improve UI performance, streaming UX, and code base quality through best practices
Qualifications5+ years of experience building modern web or app UIs with frameworks like React, Angular
Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
Experience working with RESTful APIs and real-time data
Familiarity with video playback technologies (HLS/DASH), media events, and browser compatibility
Deep care for usability, accessibility (WCAG), and performance optimization
Experience in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code
Nice to Have:Experience building UIs for Google TV devices and gaming/streaming devices such as PlayStation or Roku
Knowledge of video playback libraries (Shaka, Video.js, HLS.js, ExoPlayer)
Experience with analytics, A/B testing, and event tracking for user behavior
Work Setup and BenefitsHybrid role based in Culver City, California: onsite Monday through Thursday and remote on Friday.
Full-time position, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $79 - $85.50 per hour
