Job Purpose BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Supplier Development Engineer, Staff. The Supplier Development Engineer, Staff will help develop, implement, lead, and drive global supplier quality strategies for semiconductors. It provides regional/global leadership in the implementation, execution and enforcement of global commodity quality strategies in support of business growth. Key Responsibilities Supplier Quality Strategy Create, communicate, execute and maintain global supplier quality strategy for commodityCreate and implement Supplier Vetting Strategy, Supplier Capability Assessment, Supplier Selection (Pre-Sourcing) and Development Strategy, and Key Supplier Performance MetricsIn collaboration with Global Commodity Manager, develop and implement supplier quality roadmapCreate and implement global commodity quality requirementsBenchmark suppliers on Best in Commodity production strategiesIdentify new technologies that support BorgWarner's growth and product leadership position in the marketIdentify and develop Suppliers that meet and/or exceed PDS long-term expectations that result in a differentiation in the marketplace. Create supplier quality vetting strategies Develop processes, and roadmaps for vetting process in respective commodityExecute and assess supplier capabilityExecute global quality assessment and Training of suppliers and BW SDE-SemiconductorsTrack and communicate global commodity industry trends, manufacturing strategies, technology factors and opportunities in the global market place.Establish KPI to monitor supplier performance over mid and long-term Supplier Development Center of Expertise for manufacturing processes of the respective commodity (SEMICONDUCTORS)Develop model for compliance matrix and assess supplier’s competencies to assure quality competitiveness in pursuit of new business opportunities.Owns and governs the supplier quality vetting and selection framework, with authority to approve or escalate sourcing decisions based on risk, capability, and strategic fitCollaborates cross-functionally with Global Commodity Management, Engineering, Program Management, and Plant Operations to drive supplier performance, change management, resolve systemic quality issues, and influence sourcing decisions to improve Quality/Cost/TimeIdentify quality improvement opportunities. Support and drive continuous improvement programs at suppliers and within BorgWarnerEstablish and lead supplier technical site assessment. Coordinate and perform supplier process audits, corrective action audits, and quality assessment including new supplier assessments in cooperation with SCM and EngineeringParticipate and support key supplier sourcing processLead resolution of quality issues with suppliers.
