About the Opportunity: The Senior Software Tester (VHA) role is responsible for leading the development and execution of test plans, cases, and procedures to validate software and IT systems. This position ensures the quality and reliability of software products by identifying defects and verifying compliance with requirements. The role contributes significantly to the organization''s ability to deliver robust software solutions by providing technical expertise and leadership in testing activities. 3. Responsibilities: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and proceduresCoordinate walkthroughs of test cases/scripts with relevant team leadersLead software and IT system testing to ensure proper operation and defect-free releasesPerform verification activities using defined methods and criteriaDocument and communicate test results and progress on issue resolutionAnalyze test results and resolve complex problemsImprove testing procedures and develop models for future configurationsCreate daily test metrics and reportingOccasionally support other IT systems engineering activitiesProvide technical solutions for complex problemsWork independently under general direction and establish approaches to solutionsRepresent the organization in addressing technical issues across projects 4. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with relevant experienceDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fieldPreferred advanced testing or quality assurance certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA)5-7 years of experience in software testing and quality assuranceExperience in manual and automated testingFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLCSkilled in writing and executing test cases, scripts, and plansKnowledge of test automation tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner)Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git, SVN)Understanding of performance testing and associated tools (JMeter, Gatling)Programming proficiency in Java, Python, or C#Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla)Knowledge of database and SQL for data validationTesting experience across web, mobile, APIs, and servicesUnderstanding of security testing practicesFamiliarity with multiple testing types including functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and UATStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and lead junior testersAbility to translate business requirements into test scenariosExperience with test management and DevOps toolsKnowledge of risk-based, exploratory, and context-driven testingFamiliarity with cloud-based testing platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plusUS Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance 5.
