Senior Project Manager - DevSecOps and Security Architecture

12 month contract hybrid 3 days a week onsite in Mississauga office Job Title: Senior Project Manager – DevSecOps, Security Architecture & AI Enablement Role Description As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives spanning Developer Experience (DevEx), DevSecOps, Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), Security Architecture, and AI Enablement. This role combines strong project management, Agile delivery, and Scrum Master capabilities with a solid technical foundation across modern security architecture, cloud security, and DevSecOps automation. You will work closely with developers, security architects, platform engineers, product owners, and leadership teams to deliver projects that improve developer productivity, embed security-by-design across the SDLC, and support the safe adoption of AI across engineering. You are equally comfortable managing a project plan and risk log and holding a credible technical conversation with a security architect about zero-trust design or CI/CD pipeline controls. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of DevEx, DevOps, DevSecOps, SSDLC, Security Architecture, and AI Enablement projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.Coordinate multiple cross-functional workstreams, identify delivery risks, and proactively coordinate resolution across stakeholders spanning engineering, architecture, security, and platform teams.Serve as Scrum Master for Agile delivery teams, removing impediments and helping teams improve delivery effectiveness.Support initiatives that improve software delivery processes and partner with delivery teams to onboard and adopt centralized offerings and standards.Coordinate projects that strengthen Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices, including the integration of security controls (SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning) into CI/CD pipelines across engineering teams.Coordinate with security architecture, engineering, and platform teams on projects advancing cloud security architecture, policy-as-code, automated compliance validation, and zero-trust principles across identity, network, and workloads.Support security architecture and risk discussions during system design, helping translate technical scan results and architectural findings into risk narratives for stakeholder and executive reporting.Support the rollout and adoption of AI-powered software engineering capabilities, including AI-assisted security operations such as threat detection, anomaly detection, and alert triage.Partner with engineering, architecture, security, privacy, and risk teams to support responsible AI adoption and the secure evaluation of AI pipelines and models.Facilitate pilot programs and proof-of-concepts involving Frontier AI technologies that improve software development, testing, documentation, automation, security operations, and operational efficiency.Help development and security teams identify opportunities to leverage AI safely and effectively while complying with enterprise governance requirements.Contribute to security standards, frameworks, and governance, and track project KPIs, risks, dependencies, and executive reporting. Competencies Solid working knowledge of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), vulnerability management, and remediation workflows.Strong project management fundamentals: planning, scheduling, risk and dependency management, and status reporting.Proven Scrum Master capability — facilitation, coaching, and removing impediments for Agile delivery teams.Working understanding of application and cloud security architecture, DevSecOps automated gating, and zero-trust principles — enough to coordinate, translate, and track technical work without performing the hands-on architecture work.Ability to help translate technical scan results and architectural findings into risk narratives for non-technical and executive audiences.Experience leading initiatives involving Frontier AI, AI enablement, and AI-assisted security operations.Ability to influence executives, directors, architects, security teams, and engineering leaders.Strong facilitation and negotiation skills; experience driving enterprise-wide adoption initiatives and managing organizational change and resistance.Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of project management experience in enterprise software delivery environments.4+ years as a Scrum Master leading Agile delivery teams.Proven experience managing complex technology projects involving DevSecOps, security architecture, AI initiatives, and software security/compliance programs.Working familiarity with application security tooling and practices (SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning, IaC) sufficient to track and evaluate technical delivery, gained through hands-on experience, close partnership with security architecture teams, or equivalent exposure.Experience coordinating multiple cross-functional teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.Experience managing roadmaps, KPIs, risks, dependencies, and executive reporting.
