About the Opportunity: The Senior Platform Engineer role is focused on developing and maintaining the foundational infrastructure that supports the engineering teams'' software delivery. This position plays a critical role in transitioning from monolithic services to a microservices architecture and in optimizing cloud infrastructure management and automation. The role is hands-on, involving production-quality coding and leadership to enhance platform standards and reliability in a healthcare context. 3. Responsibilities: Design and maintain AWS infrastructure as code using Terraform and Pulumi with an emphasis on reusable modules and multi-environment managementManage and optimize container platforms including ECS and EC2, focusing on architecture, autoscaling, networking, and costLead the migration from monolithic services to microservices, establishing best practices for service scaffolding, CI/CD, and deploymentDevelop internal tools and automation using Python, Go, or TypeScriptEnhance observability practices through Datadog, including SLOs, dashboards, alerting, and distributed tracingLead incident response and conduct post-incident reviews to improve platform reliabilityMentor engineers, review designs and code, and guide technical direction for platform standardsPromote security, compliance, and reliability best practices suitable for healthcare environments 4. Requirements: Over 10 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles with strong software development skillsExtensive experience with Terraform and working knowledge of PulumiExpert knowledge of AWS services including ECS, Serverless, EC2, VPC, load balancing, DNS, and IAMProficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript with experience in testing and CI practicesExperience in decomposing monoliths and migrating to microservices, including managing service boundaries and traffic strategiesStrong skills in observability including metrics, logging, tracing, and SLO designProven leadership abilities in mentoring and cross-team communication 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package: Annual salary up to $170,000 6.
