My client, a leading US-based discretionary hedge fund, is seeking a strong Data Engineer to join their London team.
This role sits within a front-office technology environment, focused on building and maintaining high-quality data infrastructure that supports trading, research, and portfolio analytics across a multi-asset platform.
You will play a key role in developing scalable data pipelines and ensuring reliable access to clean, well-structured data used by portfolio managers, analysts, and technologists.
The position offers strong ownership across the full data lifecycle, from ingestion through to delivery in production systems.
Working within a collaborative and high-impact team, you will partner closely with both technical and business stakeholders to improve data quality, accessibility, and overall platform robustness.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines to transform raw datasets into usable formats for analytics and tradingWork closely with stakeholders to onboard and integrate external and internal data sourcesDevelop and maintain data validation and quality controls to ensure accuracy and consistencySupport production data workflows, troubleshooting issues and ensuring reliable data availabilityContribute to improving data architecture, standards, and documentation across the platformCollaborate with engineering and front-office teams to enhance data accessibility and usabilityParticipate in maintaining system stability and availability, including occasional out-of-hours support where required
Requirements
5+ years of experience building data pipelines in a financial or trading environmentStrong programming skills in Python (including pandas or similar libraries)Solid experience working with SQL and relational databasesFamiliarity with modern data tools and frameworks (e.g.
