Azure Cloud Migration Engineer

Location: Sunderland (3 days per week onsite – days may vary) Duration: 3-Month Initial Contract Rate: £tbd on application/day inside IR35 We're looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Migration Engineer / Azure Migration Engineer to support a major data centre exit and cloud transformation programme. This is a hands-on contract role focused on migrating on-premise infrastructure, servers and applications into Microsoft Azure. The Azure Cloud Migration Engineer will join a team responsible for delivering critical migration activities, building Azure infrastructure, supporting landing zones, and ensuring operational resilience throughout the migration journey. The programme includes workload migration, cloud platform engineering, infrastructure modernisation and remediation of security vulnerabilities identified across the estate. This opportunity would suit an Azure Cloud Migration Engineer / Azure Migration Engineer who has delivered large-scale Azure migration programmes and is comfortable working across cloud infrastructure, datacentre services, networking and operational support. The Role As an Azure Cloud Migration Engineer / Azure Migration Engineer, you will: Support the migration of datacentre-hosted workloads into Microsoft AzureAssist with migration planning, testing and production cutoversCreate and execute migration runbooksBuild and support Azure Landing ZonesSupport server and application migration activitiesConfigure and maintain Azure infrastructure and networkingWork closely with suppliers, project teams and technical stakeholdersRemediate security vulnerabilities across infrastructure platformsProvide operational support across both cloud and datacentre environmentsSupport patching, monitoring, incident management and platform maintenance activities Essential Experience Proven experience delivering Azure cloud migration projectsMigration of on-premise servers and applications into AzureAzure infrastructure engineering and administrationAzure Landing Zone deployment and configurationStrong Azure networking knowledgePowerShell automation and scriptingWindows Server administrationActive Directory and/or Entra IDExperience producing migration runbooks and cutover documentationExperience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments If you're an Azure Cloud Migration Engineer, Azure Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Azure Migration Consultant with proven experience delivering Azure migration programmes, we'd love to hear from you.
