Founding Engineer

We're hiring a founding engineer to build the next stage: AI agents that manage underwriting, funding, and repayment at scale, alongside software that helps our customers run their finances. You'll work directly with the founders to decide what gets built and own it from idea to production. Our engineering team brings experience from Two Sigma, Airbnb, Meta, and Wolverine Trading. You'll help turn that access into products founders and finance teams use every day. What you'll buildAutomated underwriting. Build the next version of our underwriting engine to serve thousands of businesses. Translate credit rules into reliable workflows across financial analysis, funding, and repayment, with evaluations that determine whether a change is ready to ship.Financial products. Connect bank, accounting, and retailer data into a coherent view of a brand's business. Build tools for tracking invoices and deductions, forecasting cash flow, understanding profitability by product and retailer, and syncing results back to accounting systems.Interfaces for working with agents. Build interfaces that change as an agent works, making its actions visible and letting the customer direct the next step. Use real interactions and outcomes to improve the agent's tools and workflows.Money movement. Build funding and repayment flows over bank APIs, and the ledger and reconciliation systems that keep payments and balances accurate. How we buildOur stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS. We work in one monorepo and use coding agents extensively. You'll shape what they build, review their work, and own the result in production. What you'll bringA record of shipping and operating products across the stack, from the interface to the systems behind it.Depth in at least one of AI agents, data infrastructure, or distributed systems, and the ability to learn across the others.A high bar for correctness and craft. You work quickly, catch edge cases, keep systems simple, and follow through after launch.Experience using AI coding tools effectively, with the judgment to evaluate and improve their output.Experience in trading, payments, fintech, or consumer goods is welcome, but not required.
