Purpose & Impact: Join Athene’s Product Development team and help shape innovative retirement solutions in a business with significant scale, momentum and opportunity. In this role, you’ll contribute across the product lifecycle—from competitive research, design and pricing through risk analysis, regulatory filings and implementation—while partnering with stakeholders across Actuarial and the broader organization. You’ll have the opportunity to apply deep actuarial expertise, challenge existing approaches and help move ideas from concept to market. Key Deliverables: Develop and evaluate new annuity product opportunities, using competitive research, business-case analysis and actuarial judgment to inform product design and strategy. Evaluate product profitability and perform advanced risk analysis using actuarial modeling tools, including developing and implementing appropriate pricing assumptions. Support product execution from design through launch by preparing regulatory filings, responding to inquiries and translating product designs into specifications for administrative systems. Partner across Actuarial and other functions to integrate new products into downstream processes and deliver effective, scalable implementations. Review product and marketing materials for alignment with product design while proactively identifying risks, issues and opportunities for improvement. Apply technology and AI-enabled tools appropriately to accelerate analysis, research and routine work, creating more capacity for actuarial judgment, innovation and higher-impact product development. What You Need to Bring: 6+ years of relevant experience in actuarial work within the annuity or life insurance industry, including product development, pricing and/or risk management, or other relevant experience. Experience with fixed annuities, fixed indexed annuities and/or registered index-linked annuities, with the actuarial judgment to evaluate product profitability and risk. Strong actuarial modeling and analytical capabilities, complemented by proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use emerging technologies and AI thoughtfully to improve efficiency and insight. Experience with Python, SQL, or other programming and database technical tools beneficial. Demonstrated critical thinking, creativity and independent judgment, with the ability to establish priorities, solve complex problems and move multiple initiatives forward in a changing environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, share expertise and provide technical or informal guidance to colleagues. Technical writing skills are also important to execute on key deliverables throughout the product life cycle. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or a related field, or equivalent experience; Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or higher Drive. Discipline. Confidence.
