About Rules Cube And MediCore Rules Cube is a Toronto-based digital transformation and Pega consulting firm with offices in Canada, the US, Mexico, and Latin America. MediCore is Rules Cube's AI-powered patient access and clinic operations platform. It helps health systems, clinics, and diagnostic networks streamline scheduling, intake, referrals, and front-office operations so patients get care faster and staff spend less time on manual work. MediCore is growing across North and Latin America, and we're building out the engineering team behind it. The Role As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the MediCore team, you'll own product features end to end, from database design and Python APIs to polished front-end experiences. You'll work closely with product, AI/ML, and implementation teams to integrate MediCore with EHRs and clinical systems, ship AI-driven workflows, and help shape the platform's architecture as it scales. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs in Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask)Develop modern, accessible front-end applications using React and TypeScriptBuild and maintain integrations with EHR/EMR and practice management systems (e.g., Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, athenahealth) using HL7 v2, FHIR, and third-party APIsIntegrate AI/LLM capabilities, including conversational agents, document processing, and intelligent routing, into production workflowsDesign data models and optimize performance on PostgreSQL and other data storesBuild and deploy cloud-native services on Google Cloud Platform using Docker, GKE, Cloud Run, and CI/CD pipelinesEnsure the platform meets healthcare security and privacy standards (HIPAA, PHIPA, SOC 2) through secure coding, encryption, audit logging, and access controlsWrite clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design documentsMentor junior and mid-level engineers and help raise engineering standards across the MediCore teamWork with implementation teams to troubleshoot issues and support go-lives with health system and clinic customers What You Bring 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record building full stack production applicationsExpert-level Python and deep experience with at least one major framework (FastAPI, Django, or Flask)Strong front-end skills in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript, plus HTML/CSSSolid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design, query optimization, and migrationsHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage, plus containerization with DockerExperience designing and consuming APIs and building event-driven or asynchronous systems (Pub/Sub, Celery, Kafka, or similar)Strong understanding of authentication/authorization (OAuth2, OIDC, SSO) and data protectionExperience with automated testing (pytest, Jest, Playwright/Cypress) and CI/CD tools (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)Excellent communication skills and comfort working with non-technical stakeholdersSpanish Language Proficiency Nice to Have Healthcare technology experience, especially with HL7, FHIR, or EHR integrationsFamiliarity with HIPAA, PHIPA, or other healthcare compliance frameworksExperience building LLM-powered features, ideally with Vertex AI and Gemini, including RAG pipelines, vector databases, or AI agentsGoogle Cloud certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Developer or Professional Cloud Architect)Experience with BigQuery or other GCP data and analytics servicesExperience with voice/telephony or messaging platforms (Twilio, SMS, IVR)Exposure to Pega or other workflow/BPM platformsSpanish proficiency, to support MediCore's growing customer base in Mexico and Latin AmericaExperience in a SaaS or high-growth product environment Why Join Us Build healthcare technology used by clinics and health systems across multiple countriesWork at the intersection of AI and healthcare operations with real ownership over the productThe pace of a product team with the stability of an established firmCollaborative, international team spanning Canada, the US, and Latin AmericaCompetitive compensation, benefits, and professional development support, including certifications Powered by JazzHR N2JpArqIzk
