About Mecka AI Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI. We design and operate global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems. We work closely with frontier robotics teams to bridge real-world data, simulation, learning-based systems, and deployed hardware. The Role Every video frame we capture, label, and deliver to customers moves through AWS infrastructure this team builds and runs. We're hiring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help design, scale, and harden Mecka's AWS environment, with a focus on the networking and storage behind global data ingestion and customer delivery. You'll join the Platform Engineering & Infrastructure team as a senior individual contributor, take the lead on key projects, and work closely with the ML, computer vision, and data teams who depend on this infrastructure. What You'll Do Design, build, and operate core parts of Mecka's AWS environment (networking, storage, and IAM) alongside the rest of the infrastructure teamBuild and maintain our network: VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateway, VPN/Direct Connect, DNS, and load balancing, so capture sites, internal teams, and customers can reliably move data in and outImplement and tune the storage layer for petabyte-scale video and sensor data on S3 and related services, including bucket design, lifecycle and tiering, replication, and access patterns built for throughput and retrieval costImprove the speed and predictability of data transfer, from ingestion out of capture sites to large dataset deliveries to customersManage infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent) through CI/CD, keeping changes reviewable, repeatable, and easy for other engineers to useContribute to reliability for the infrastructure layer through monitoring, alerting, on-call, incident response, and postmortems that lead to real fixesFind and deliver cost savings in storage and data transfer, contribute to design reviews, and mentor other engineers on the team What You Bring Must-have: 6+ years in infrastructure, platform, or cloud engineering, including building and operating production AWS environments at meaningful scaleDeep AWS networking expertise: VPC design, routing, Transit Gateway or peering, VPN/Direct Connect, DNS (Route 53), load balancing, and troubleshooting connectivity across environmentsHands-on experience designing and operating large-scale storage on AWS (S3 at scale, lifecycle policies, storage classes, replication, performance tuning)Strong infrastructure-as-code practice (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD ownershipSolid IAM and security fundamentals: least-privilege access, encryption, network segmentation, and audit readinessProficiency in at least one language for automation and tooling (Python, Go, or similar) Nice-to-have: Experience moving large volumes of data: high-throughput transfer, multi-region replication, or bulk ingest/export (e.g., DataSync, Snowball, S3 Transfer Acceleration)Experience with hybrid or edge networking, connecting physical sites or hardware to the cloudKubernetes/EKS or container platform experienceFamiliarity with GPU compute or data processing workloads on AWSExperience with compliance requirements for customer data (data residency, PII handling, SOC 2)AWS certifications (Advanced Networking, Solutions Architect Professional) as a supporting signal, not a substitute for production experience A Note on Applying Studies show women and candidates from underrepresented groups often only apply when they meet 100% of the listed qualifications, while others apply after meeting 60%.
