Application Developer

A2 Global is a global distributor of electronic components, headquartered in the Tampa Bay area with operations across North America, Europe, and Asia. Our internal application development team builds and supports the systems that run the business. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Application Developer to join our team. This position is remote but may initially require some work onsite as part of the training program. ABOUT THE ROLE: Alva and Fasttrack are our proprietary ERP applications — designed, built, and maintained entirely in-house by our own development team. They are not off-the-shelf products we configure; every feature is written and owned by us. Alva runs on ASP.NET MVC (.NET Framework, C#) over SQL Server, and Fasttrack runs on PHP using the CodeIgniter framework. Both are on active development roadmaps, and both read from and write to the same shared SQL Server database. We are adding a developer to own application logic and data work across the stack — someone who is comfortable moving between the two applications and who treats the shared database as a first-class part of the job. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Build, enhance, and maintain server-side application logic for both Alva (.NET / C#) and Fasttrack (PHP).Work directly in a shared SQL Server database: write and troubleshoot complex queries and stored procedures, and reason carefully about schema changes that affect both applications.Design, build, and consume Web API / REST services connecting the two applications and external systems.Translate business requirements into working, maintainable code — from requirements gathering through development, testing, and documentation.Identify, diagnose, and correct defects across both codebases.Contribute to data-conversion and system-integration work.Participate in code review and follow shared coding standards.Participate in on-call and daily support activities.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Application-first engineering: strong object-oriented development, with primary depth in either C# / .NET or PHP and a demonstrated ability — and willingness — to work in the other.SQL Server depth: complex queries, stored procedures, and relational data modeling; comfortable owning changes to a schema shared by more than one application.MVC architecture: practical experience building applications on an MVC pattern.Web services: designing and integrating Web API / REST services.Version control: comfortable with Git-based workflows and sound branch / merge practices.Full lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, document, and support.Experience: 5+ years building and maintaining business applications preferred （2+ minimum）.Education: Bachelors in CIS, MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. THIS IS A SERVER-SIDE ENGINEERING ROLE: This position is focused on application logic, data, and integration — not front-end visual design. Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is useful for supporting the applications' existing interfaces, but this is not a UI / UX design position. We are looking for an engineer who is at home in business logic, coding, and the database.
