About the Opportunity: The Senior Platform Software Engineer, Transport role focuses on designing, building, and operating foundational platform infrastructure within a multi-cell architecture. This hands-on position involves developing scalable backend services, cloud networking solutions, and automation tools that support the entire platform and its customers. The role contributes directly to platform reliability, scalability, and migration efforts, collaborating with product engineering, security, and infrastructure teams. It requires ownership of distributed systems and the ability to address complex technical challenges affecting the entire customer base. 3. Responsibilities: Join a senior, distributed engineering team working asynchronouslyArchitect and build core components of a multi-cell platform including service routing and cloud networkingDevelop and automate tooling for large-scale customer account migrationsWrite backend services and infrastructure code primarily in Go and Python, with opportunities to use RustCollaborate on network architecture, including VPC management, load balancing, DNS, PrivateLink, and service meshDesign automation solutions using Argo Workflows, Kubernetes, and Terraform to improve platform scalability and reliabilityWork closely with product engineering, security, and customer support teams to unblock feature development and provide mentorshipOwn, troubleshoot, and maintain high-availability distributed systems, participating in on-call rotations 4. Requirements: Experience working asynchronously in fully-remote, distributed teamsProficient backend or platform engineer with expertise in Go or Python and large-scale distributed systemsDeep knowledge of cloud infrastructure with hands-on experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure, containerization, and Infrastructure as CodePassion for building internal platforms and automation to improve developer productivity and platform reliabilityFamiliarity or interest in cloud networking concepts such as load balancing, DNS, VPCs, proxies, and service mesh technologiesStrong ownership mindset with a customer-focused approach to problem-solvingEffective communicator able to articulate technical concepts across teams 5.
