Join our Platform IAM Engineering Team The Akamai Platform IAM team is part of Akamai's Cloud Technology Group. We design and operate customer-facing platforms enabling customers to configure and control their cloud assets. This team owns the IAM tool sets for Akamai's customers using the Cloud Manager website. We ensure customers have what they need to configure users for quality, safety, and performance. Partner with the best You will join a global team and lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering high-quality IAM features and tools. You'll balance technical oversight with people management, coaching engineers, clarifying requirements, driving execution, and ensuring alignment with product and SRE partners. While you will bring engineering expertise, your role will focus on leadership, mentorship, and technical direction over hands-on development. As An Engineering Manager, You Will Be Responsible For Managing, mentoring, and developing a team of engineers proficient in enterprise IAM conceptsProviding technical guidance and setting best practices for back-end architecture and developmentProviding technical guidance and setting best practices for back-end architecture and developmentPartnering with product management, QA, SRE, Senior Leadership, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive user experiencesHaving oversight of delivery across the full project lifecycle: organizing, planning, development, testing, and releaseDriving consistency through tooling and engineering standardsSupporting hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and career growth for team members Do What You Love To be successful in this role you will: Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldDemonstrate solid knowledge of back-end technologies including PythonDemonstrate solid understanding and experience with large, low-latency, and highly-available distributed systemsHave experience with IAM concepts and platformsPossess a clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile planningHave prior leadership experience and excellent communication skills and a passion for building inclusive, high-performing engineering teams About Us At Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day. Compensation Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 129,400 - 232,800 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
