Cyient is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Pole Line Engineer with an active (P.Eng.) license in Ontario to support OSP design and engineering for infrastructure projects.
This is a strong opportunity for an engineer with experience in distribution pole lines, FTTH/FTTX, permitting and pole loading analysis and engineering who is comfortable reviewing and approving engineering designs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and review pole loading calculationsSupport aerial permitting and OSP telecommunications designCreate and review permit drawings using AutoCADInterpret field data, civil drawings, land-base maps, surveys, and field sketchesReview network facility records and field measurementsSupport FTTH, BAU, relocation, MDU, and fiber infrastructure projectsEnsure designs comply with applicable engineering standardsCoordinate with internal teams, utilities, municipalities, and project stakeholdersRequired Qualifications
Active Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario with good standingExperience in telecommunications, civil, structural, mechanical, or related engineeringStrong experience with hydro, communication line pole design and engineeringExperience with industry standard pole loading softwares: QuickPole, SPIDAcalc, or PLS-CADDKnowledge of CSA C22.3 No.
1-25 Overhead SystemsUnderstanding of Ontario Regulation 22/04Experience with Hydro one construction standardsExperience with OSP design and pole loading analysisAbility to review and approve technical engineering designsPreferred Experiences
