Job Description This is a hands-on technical role within the Business Performance function, helping connect McLaren Racing’s People and Finance platforms with the wider enterprise technology landscape. Working under the direction of the Associate Director, People & Finance Technology & Data, you will design, build, maintain and improve secure, reliable and scalable integrations. Your work will enable data and transactions to move accurately between Workday and other McLaren systems. You will also work with enterprise technology teams to clarify system dependencies, ownership, controls and data flows, reducing manual hand-offs and enabling joined-up processes, reporting and decision-making across the organisation. Principal Accountabilities Data Engineering and Integration Design, build, test, deploy and support secure inbound and outbound integrations across People, Finance and wider McLaren technologies. Develop and maintain robust data pipelines that provide timely, accurate and trusted datasets. Translate business and technical requirements into scalable integration designs, covering data mappings, transformation logic, scheduling, security, error handling and reconciliation. Extract, transform and exchange data through SQL, APIs, web services, file-based interfaces and approved integration tools. Assess the upstream and downstream impact of changes to systems, processes, data structures and interfaces. Develop monitoring, validation, alerting and reconciliation controls that identify integration failures and data-quality issues. Investigate incidents, complete root-cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes. Replace manual extracts, uploads and reconciliations with controlled, automated integrations where appropriate. Enterprise Systems Integration Support integrations between Workday and enterprise systems including Salesforce, SmartRecruiters, Clockify, Microsoft Azure and Power Automate. Work with system owners to define sources of truth, integration direction, frequency, data ownership and support models. Contribute to integration architecture, identifying dependencies, transition requirements and opportunities to simplify the application landscape. Support data migration and interface activity associated with Workday Financials and other transformation programmes. Ensure integrations align with McLaren standards for enterprise architecture, security, privacy, data governance and access control. Maintain clear documentation covering interfaces, endpoints, schedules, dependencies, data mappings, runbooks and support procedures. Collaboration and Project Delivery Partner with People, Finance, IT and Commercial technology teams to deliver joined-up system and data solutions. Support integration discovery with business owners, technical teams, vendors and implementation partners. Translate end-to-end process requirements into integration needs that support the complete workflow. Coordinate integration design, testing, deployment and handover across internal teams and external partners. Support Workday releases, configuration changes and technology deployments through impact assessments and regression testing. Clarify ownership and support responsibilities, escalating material risks, unresolved dependencies and control gaps. Contribute to reusable integration standards, patterns and governance. Qualifications You will bring experience as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, Data Analyst or in a similar role within a data-driven environment, or hold a relevant degree or qualification. You Will Also Have Good SQL skills for data extraction, transformation and troubleshooting. A practical understanding of APIs, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, SFTP, web services, authentication methods and ETL/ELT patterns. Exposure to data modelling and preparing datasets for reporting environments, ideally Power BI. The ability to build and maintain data pipelines and integrations in structured, repeatable ways. High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy. An awareness of data privacy, security and the careful handling of confidential information. Experience with Workday HCM, Workday Financials, Workday Prism or Adaptive Planning would be advantageous. Familiarity with Power Automate or Power Apps would also be beneficial. Personal Attributes You will be analytical, organised and proactive, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. You will be able to translate technical data concepts for non-technical People and Finance users and build positive working relationships across teams. You will remain calm and effective under pressure, adapt quickly to new systems and bring curiosity, attention to detail and a commitment to continuously improving data processes.
