🚀 Software Engineer – AI Automation & Production Reliability 💷 £54.81 per hour PAYE + 25 days paid holiday 📍 UK Remote 📅 6-month contract | October 2026 start ⏰ 40 hours per week We’re recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer to join a leading global technology organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This is a senior engineering role focused on keeping a large-scale live UGC application healthy in production across multiple surfaces, including VR and mobile/cloud-streamed environments. The focus is firmly on backend reliability, CI/CD, production infrastructure and AI-driven automation. You’ll help build systems that identify and resolve production issues automatically, reducing manual operational and on-call work. 🤖 What you’ll be doing • Build and maintain automation for release pipelines, build health, crash triage and incident detection • Develop and improve AI-assisted code repair and autonomous remediation systems • Build tooling that detects broken builds, identifies root-cause changes and recommends or executes fixes • Maintain and improve CI/CD, build, release and cloud deployment pipelines • Monitor production quality and respond to regressions, incidents and outages • Support backend services and large-scale production infrastructure • Automate recurring operational tasks and reduce manual on-call workload • Deliver infrastructure and dependency migrations while maintaining CI/CD stability 🔎 What we’re looking for • 8+ years’ professional software engineering experience, or equivalent • Strong experience with CI/CD, build, release and cloud deployment pipelines at scale • Experience operating backend/cloud services and server-side production infrastructure • Experience with AI-assisted developer tooling, AI agents, autonomous systems, self-healing systems or auto-remediation • Strong production monitoring, reliability and incident-response experience • Experience building tooling for automated failure detection and root-cause analysis • Evidence of using automation to reduce operational/on-call workloads • Strong ownership, autonomy and communication skills ⭐ Nice to have • Cloud application/game streaming or remote rendering • Live-service or large-scale production applications • CDN or asset-delivery pipelines • Large monorepo build systems • Capacity, latency or session-orchestration monitoring • VR, gaming or multi-surface application experience If your background combines senior software/infrastructure engineering with production reliability and AI-driven automation, I’d be keen to hear from you. 📩 Apply or message me directly with your latest CV for further details.
