Senior Software Engineer - AI Automation and Backend Reliability

Duration: 6 months contract Pay Range: 55 – 60 GBP /hour Via PAYE inside IR35 Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to build and maintain AI-driven automation that keeps a large-scale application reliable and healthy in production across multiple platforms. Key Responsibilities Build AI-powered, self-healing systems to monitor application performance and automate maintenance.Maintain and improve backend services and cloud deployment pipelines.Monitor weekly deployments, system health, performance and application stability.Develop tooling to detect broken builds, identify root causes and automate fixes.Ensure compatibility and reliability across different platforms and user environments.Reduce manual operational and on-call work through intelligent automation.Troubleshoot production issues and take ownership of resolution. Requirements 8+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent.Strong experience with backend services, cloud infrastructure and production systems.Proven experience building AI-driven, autonomous or self-healing systems.Experience with CI/CD, deployments and production monitoring.Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.Experience operating large-scale, high-availability applications.Highly autonomous with strong communication and ownership. Nice to Have Experience with cloud rendering, streaming or distributed systems.Experience with large-scale live/production applications.Experience with automated remediation or AI developer tooling.Familiarity with large monorepos and build/dependency management.
