Software Development Engineer in Test

Summary Trimble has an opening for a Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) Level III position in Lake Oswego, OR. This is an exciting time to join as we grow and bring new features and technologies to our award winning construction collaboration products. The SDET is responsible for improving the quality of software releases through automation processes and tools enhancements. Working in an agile development environment, the SDET will develop and apply customized testing methodologies utilizing the latest AI tools to show measurable improvements to the released software. In addition, this person is responsible for automating test cases and workflows to accelerate testing and release cycles. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Implement and maintain automation scripts, test automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelinesLeverage AI tools and technologies to enhance test case generation, test data creation, defect prediction, and accelerate testing cyclesPlan, schedule, and implement testing projects while continuously evaluating and improving defined software processesDesign and develop quality testing procedures; update and modify existing tests as necessaryDefine test objectives and collaborate with the QA Team and other departments to achieve project goalsPerform moderately complex functional, application, regression, and performance testingProvide metrics and results from all testing efforts that will support business decisions related to qualityRecommend and evaluate test automation, performance tools, and emerging AI testing technologiesEvangelize new automation techniques, AI-driven testing practices, and best practices to QA team members Competencies Willingness and ability to quickly adapt and maintain software products and current testing technologies, including AI-powered testing toolsStrong initiative, customer-service oriented, and commitment to ensure timely, quality solutions to customer issuesWell-organized, self-directed team player who remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new thingsAbility to accurately estimate task durations, prioritize work activities, and develop realistic action plansDemonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while adapting to changes in the work environment and managing competing demandsPresent information effectively and interpret written technical documentationStrategize and plan improvements in QA processes, tools, and best practices, including AI integration opportunitiesDemonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, positive attitude, and good judgment in a highly collaborative team environmentCuriosity and enthusiasm for learning and applying emerging AI technologies in testing workflows Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field plus a minimum of five years relevant experience in software quality assurance or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of AI tools for test automation and quality assurance enhancementDemonstrate test automation and scripting skills and prior experience in test automation and scripting in C# or JavaStrong understanding of QA processesExperience in a DevOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery test environmentKnowledge of cloud and virtualization testing environmentsStrong technical skills with a variety of business software toolsExperience with QA-related tools for requirements management, test management, and defect tracking Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with AI assisted testing tools or AI integration in testing workflowsCompleted AI related certifications or training (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals, AI for Software Testing)Experience using AI for test case generation, test data creation, or defect analysisPrior experience in a global work environmentKnowledge of accounting principles and practices (e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, purchase orders, general ledger)Knowledge of cloud and virtualization testing environmentsKnowledge of performance and security testing tools and techniquesFamiliar with micro service testing techniques Trimble's Privacy Policy
