Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Developer to design and build a custom control plane for managing Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure at scale. This hands-on role combines systems programming, virtualization, distributed systems, and cloud-native orchestration. Responsibilities: • Develop Go-based control plane components, including API servers, controllers, operators, schedulers, and reconciliation loops. • Orchestrate Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines using Kubernetes-style declarative architecture. • Design relational database schemas for cluster state, VM inventory, host topology, and configuration management. • Implement Kubernetes CRDs, REST/gRPC APIs, idempotent state reconciliation, leader election, and failure recovery. • Build observability through metrics, structured logging, and tracing. • Design for high availability, safe concurrency, and resource scheduling across Hyper-V hosts. • Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; participate in code reviews and technical documentation. • Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and SRE teams on quotas, placement policies, and operational runbooks. Qualifications: • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including infrastructure or platform development. • Strong Go expertise, including goroutines, channels, interfaces, and production services. • Experience with Kubernetes internals, client-go, CRDs, controllers, and controller-runtime. • Strong relational database skills, including schema design, transactions, migrations, and performant Go queries. • Experience with distributed systems, REST/gRPC APIs, CI/CD, Git, and automated testing. • Strong systems troubleshooting across compute, storage, and networking. Experience with Hyper-V, WMI/HCS, KubeVirt, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, SDN, PowerShell, or Infrastructure-as-Code is preferred.
