About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services, supporting cloud infrastructure, and ensuring applications remain reliable and secure in production. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, cloud teams, UX professionals, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions and exceptional user experiences. Key Responsibilities Backend Development & Service Ownership Design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications and services.Take end-to-end ownership of the systems you build, including deployment, monitoring, and ongoing operational support.Enhance application performance, reliability, and maintainability through continuous improvements.Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making.Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability Collaborate with cloud and platform engineering teams to maintain and improve production environments.Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure system health.Support cloud-based deployments and troubleshoot infrastructure or application issues as needed.Help improve operational processes, automation, and platform stability.Production Support & Operations Participate in on-call rotations to investigate and resolve production incidents.Support application releases, dependency upgrades, and operational maintenance activities.Partner with support and engineering teams to address customer-reported issues and system incidents.Drive root-cause analysis and preventative measures to reduce recurring issues.Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with frontend developers, product teams, designers, and platform engineers to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.Contribute to API design, integration strategies, and data contract definitions.Ensure backend services effectively support evolving product requirements.Foster strong communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.Quality, Security & Best Practices Participate in code reviews and promote high standards of code quality and reliability.Contribute to testing strategies, automation, and engineering best practices.Support security reviews and ensure compliance with data protection and privacy requirements.Leverage modern development tools and technologies to improve productivity and software quality.Required Qualifications 4+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend engineering focus.Experience building backend services using technologies such as Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Rust, or similar programming languages.Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL optimization, schema design, and database migrations.Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting cloud-based applications.Hands-on experience with containerized environments and cloud deployment pipelines.Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and incident management practices.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations.Demonstrated ownership mindset with experience supporting systems in production environments.Experience mentoring developers and contributing to engineering excellence initiatives.Preferred Qualifications Experience with performance testing and system optimization.Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and container orchestration platforms.Exposure to cloud automation and platform engineering practices.Experience contributing to open-source projects or personal technical initiatives.Familiarity with modern backend frameworks and distributed system architectures.
