Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Architect / DevOps & Security Engineer Location : 100% Remote work accepted from anywhere in US Duration : 12+ Months Contract Role Teams Meeting Interview Job Description: Key Skills: AWS Architecture | AWS Engineering | DevOps | Cloud Security | Terraform | AWS Networking | IAM/KMS | CI/CD | Python/Bash | Observability | DR We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Architect / DevOps & Security Engineer to design, build, secure, automate, and operate enterprise AWS environments supporting Mainframe migration to AWS This is a hands-on architecture and engineering role requiring strong expertise in AWS architecture, networking, security, Terraform, CI/CD, automation, and production operations. Key Responsibilities Design and implement AWS environments across DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD, and DR.Translate business and application requirements into secure, scalable, highly available, resilient, and cost-effective AWS architectures.Create architecture/solution designs, diagrams, standards, and technical documentation aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles.Design and implement VPCs, subnetting, routing, Cloud WAN, VPC endpoints, PrivateLink, Route 53, ALB/NLB, and hybrid connectivity.Build and support EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, MWAA, Cognito, Secrets Manager, and Systems Manager.Integrate AWS with corporate networks, firewalls, Netskope, and on-premises environments.Design and implement IAM roles, cross-account access, KMS encryption, certificate management, secrets management, and security controls following least-privilege principles, including integration with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for enterprise SSO and identity federation.Develop infrastructure using Terraform and automate processes using AWS CLI, Python, PowerShell, and Bash.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including security scanning, policy validation, approval gates, and rollback procedures.Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, AWS Config, SNS, and dashboards.Troubleshoot complex AWS infrastructure, networking, security, IAM, DNS, Linux, database, and managed-service issues.Support production operations, incident response, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and cost optimization.Provide architecture leadership, technical guidance, mentoring, and support to cloud, DevOps, security, infrastructure, and application teams. Required Qualifications 7+ years of AWS cloud architecture, cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud security experience.Strong hands-on experience with enterprise AWS architecture and infrastructure.Strong knowledge of VPC, IAM, KMS, S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Route 53, and private connectivity.Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.Experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD platforms.Strong AWS networking, hybrid connectivity, security, IAM, encryption, and secrets-management experience.Proficiency with AWS CLI, Linux, Python, PowerShell, and Bash.Experience with production operations, monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery.Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty, or Advanced Networking certification.Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework and large-scale migrations.Experience with MWAA/Airflow, RDS PostgreSQL, Cognito, Network Firewall, Cloud WAN, Netskope, or Cloudera on AWS.Experience supporting healthcare, government, or other regulated workloads. Ideal Candidate A hands-on AWS Architect who can define the target architecture and also implement it—writing Terraform, configuring AWS services, building CI/CD pipelines, implementing security controls, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting production environments.
