Lead Quality Engineer

All3 is transforming how buildings are conceived, developed, and delivered. We combine AI-powered design with robotic prefabrication and on-site assembly to build custom architecture at the cost and speed of mass production - unlocking even the most complex sites. We're currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team, focused on building and running quality assurance across our timber prefabrication facility. You will own the QA function end-to-end - establishing frameworks that bring our manufacturing processes in line with EU and German standards, and leading a team of engineers to maintain rigorous quality control as we scale production. Please note: this role is based in Berlin and requires regular trips to our production facility in Belgrade. Responsibilities: Developing and implementing a comprehensive QA framework aligned with EU and German manufacturing standards for timber prefabrication;Defining quality control processes for new products from concept through to production readiness;Conducting root cause analysis and driving corrective actions in response to non-conformances or process failures;Collaborating with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to embed quality requirements at every stage of the manufacturing workflow;Managing internal and supplier-facing audits, and maintaining all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance;Reporting on quality KPIs and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership. Expertise: Extensive experience in quality engineering or quality management within a manufacturing environment, ideally in timber, modular construction, or construction prefabrication;Deep working knowledge of relevant EU manufacturing standards and German regulatory requirements (e.g., DIN, EN, CE marking);Proven experience building or significantly restructuring a QA function, including writing standards, SOPs, and inspection protocols from scratch;Track record of leading and developing engineering teams in a quality or production context;Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent) and lean/continuous improvement methodologies;Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
